Gift Guide-Vegan Cookbooks-11.23.16
What better post to share the day before Thanksgiving than our favorite vegan cookbooks. While we only cook vegan meals, we do “veganize” recipes from non-vegan cookbooks; however, Gift Guide-Vegan Cookbooks is going to focus specifically on our Vegan cookbook collection. Between The Food Network and our well-loved cookbooks, most of our knowledge comes from many hours of watching and reading. We started our cookbook collection with books authored by some of our favorite Food Network stars; Emeril, Mario Batali, and Alton Brown. Over the years, we subscribed to America’s Test Kitchen and their affiliates; Cook’s Illustrated and Cook’s Country. We know first hand that a good meal stems from carefully crafted blends of ingredients with a healthy dollop of love. So, while I can recommend these cookbooks, crafting quality meals starts from your heart. Believe in yourself and the ingredients and be creative.
As recipe developers and food bloggers, we often grab a cookbook to follow someone else’s recipe for a brain break. Please enjoy our Gift Guide-Vegan Cookbooks for a list of our go-to Vegan Cookbooks.

This book is incredible. I can’t wait to get my hands on Kristy’s second book that just launched – This pair would make a great gift for a vegan loved one.
This book is the healthiest cookbook I own. Every recipe used whole plant-based foods and oil-free! It truly is a game changer in the kitchen. If you have a friend or family member who wants to eat healthier this is an excellent choice. This book has homemade cashew-tofu mayo, homemade salad dressings, healthier desserts and main dish ideas as well as salads, and side dishes. Every recipe we’ve tried has been a hit!
The Vegan Zombie: Cook and Survive!
Our first vegan cookbook we bought at a VegFest in Western New York from Chris and John of The Vegan Zombie. We had subscribed to their YouTube Channel for at least six months and knew we had to meet them and get their book. It is one of our favorites. The Wacky Cake, which we bake as cupcakes, is by far an entire family favorite. My sister-in-law even had those cupcakes made for her wedding.
The recipes in Chloe’s cookbook(s) are easy to follow and very delicious. We used her German Chocolate Cake Frosting for Cupcakes for an Oktoberfest Party, and they turned our EXCELLENT! If you didn’t know if was vegan, you would have never known it wasn’t a traditional German Chocolate Cake Frosting. Her recipes are on point! Any of her cookbooks would make a great gift.
This book is full to the brim of great vegan recipes. Although it is lacking the colorful pictures that the other books offer, the tastiness of the recipes is not lacking. The chickpea cutlets have been a huge hit here. We modified them to make schnitzel for an Oktoberfest party – Vegan for the win! Co-author Isa Chandra Moskowitz recently launched another book; “The Superfun Times Vegan Holiday Cookbook: Entertaining for Absolutely Every Occasion – which, at a quick glance, looks fantastic and just graced my Holiday Wish List. 🙂
